Vancouver, Canada May 26,
2003 - Bycast Inc. www.bycast.com is pleased
to announce that the Provincial Health Services
Authority (PHSA) has selected Bycast StorageGRID
MultiSite™ as
the image archive solution for Children's & Women's
Health Centre of British Columbia (C&W). Bycast
will provide C&W with a 12 terabyte fully redundant
online DICOM archive.
"Bycast StorageGRID MultiSite™ provides
us with a fault tolerant and cost-effective software
solution that addresses the need for an open system
that can seamlessly grow in capacity and geographic
footprint. This allows us to reliably store local
studies and acquire exams from other facilities throughout
the province. The archive will interface with our
existing enterprise image viewing solution and provides
an open solution that integrates with all DICOM modalities
and PACS", said Jamus Spink, Corporate Director
Technical Services, PHSA.
"As we move towards an integrated regional
archive, Bycast's StorageGRID Architecture™ provides
the scalability and security needed to meet the data
volume and the multi-site requirements. It also allows
us to employ an open solution that interfaces with
existing multi-vendor systems", said Don Henkelman,
Chief Information Officer, PHSA.
"We are pleased to be working with an institution
of the caliber of C&W, a leader in pediatric
and women's care. Bycast will provide C&W with
a next generation solution that results in improved
patient care by enabling fast and secure access to
large numbers of current and historical imaging studies
from around the province", said Moe Kermani,
President and CEO of Bycast.
